Eiko Hanamura was a pioneer of shojo (girls’) manga. Inspired by artists like Modigliani, Takehisa Yumeji, and Junichi Nakahara, Eiko pursued an art education. After marriage and childbirth, she became a manga artist. From her debut, she remained active for more than 60 years, never putting down her brush.
